Claire talks about Ryan's Hope (2:00 min mark to 8:30 min mark) and also writing for General
Hospital (54 min mark to the end). Claire wrote some wonderful storylines for GH including the Robin/Stone aids story, which she talks about, plus the BJ/Maxie heart transplant storyline.

On Monday, October 26, 2009 Kate Mulgrew was guest speaker at the Minnesota Medical Foundation 2009 Annual Dinner which honors those who support health-focused education, research, and service at the University of Minnesota. Kate is involved in Alzheimer’s prevention research being performed by Dr. Karen Hsiao Ashe at The N. Bud Grossman Center for Memory Research & Care at the University of Minnesota. Kate feels passionately about this organization and Dr. Ashe’s research and hopes a cure, through prevention, can soon be found for Alzheimer’s.

NBC has just picked up the back nine episodes of 'Mercy' so it will have a full-season on NBC. This is a great news as Kate Mulgrew mentioned at the Big Apple Comic Con that a future storyline will deal with her husband on the show being diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I know Kate is very pleased that the producers/writers are incorporating Alzheimer's into the storyline. Hopefully this will be an opportunity to make people more aware of the disease and also be a touching storyline.

Sorry for the quality but the panel was held in a large, warehouse style room and the sound system was not good. For anyone attending the Big Apple Comic Con this weekend in NYC here's some information on when Kate Mulgrew will be signing autographs. Please note that all times are subject to change.
Kate is scheduled to arrive around 2pm on Friday, Oct. 16th. As I posted previously Kate's panel is now at 11am on Saturday morning, Oct. 17th. She will be signing Saturday afternoon. She will return Sunday morning around 11am and will sign for a few hours. Based on my experience with all guests at these type of signings my advice is: If you are at the con, see that Kate is signing and want an autograph, get it then.

Wizard World is suppose to be streaming panels from the Big Apple Con live on http://www.iclips.net/ and you should also be able to go back and watch them later. I don't see anything listed yet on the iclips site but according to the schedule on the Big Apple Con's website Kate Mulgrew's panel is suppose to be Friday, Oct. 16th from 5pm to 6pm ET.
